Started this 6 Degrees Art Project piece this past weekend. It is clearly in a state of ugliness right now as is customary with these things. I’ve done about seven, 6 Degrees Art Project pieces over the last few months – each work is made up of six squares measuring about 6×6 inches each. I dig the format and I’ve been working with little squares since about March or so. But I think I’m getting to the end of my run with that size for now – I’m neglecting two pieces in progress that are 2×2 feet square – and frankly I’d like to paint something much bigger than that sooner rather than later.
But back to the present challenge at hand – this thing. Currently this nebulous composition is atrocious and on top of that some of the black lines feel like they are solidifying (translation: they aren’t going to be moved or painted over easily). I hate when that happens because it essentially means I’m committed to resolving the hand I’ve been dealt. But I shouldn’t really complain about the situation because that’s pretty much how my painting process works – the trick is being able to stay with a work in order to turn the ugly frown upside down. Haha, and with this one it could take a while…onward and upward…
From DJ hi_rez, enjoy.

Has an rudimentary alphabetical look to it. Purples and peaches are a nice color combo.
